This role is within our busy, well equipped and modern CNC machine shop situated within our Verwood facility.

Requirements:

Experience in managing shop floor machinists, both skilled & semi-skilled.

Must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills.

Motivate and drive workforce.

Be a problem solver – investigate, advise & recommend solutions.

Be familiar with CNC milling and turning machines.

Main Focus:

Monitoring production flow.

Maintain processes & procedures.

Minimising cycle times.

Keeping machines running and meeting OEE targets.

Please note this is a working supervisory role

Pre-Kit Engineer

We are looking to recruit a Pre-kit Engineer. This is a full time role for the right candidate and would ideally suit experienced ex-machinists or Engineers with a good knowledge of machine tooling and cutting tools.

The role of Pre-Kit is to ensure that the machinist has all available tools, inserts, fixtures, gauges and consumables on hand to set the CNC machine ready for its next job. This role is key in ensuring our efficiency level is maintained at the highest level possible. De-kitting correctly and accurately post machining is critical to this process providing repeatable results.

This role is within our busy, well equipped and modern CNC machine shop situated within our Verwood facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Tool Preparation

Collect and assemble all required tools, inserts, fixtures, and gauges.

Ensure tools are clean, calibrated, and ready for use.

Kit Accuracy

Cross-check against job sheets, CNC programs, and setup instructions.

Label kits clearly for identification.

Inventory Management

Monitor tool usage and maintain minimum stock levels.

Report damaged or worn tools for replacement.

Documentation

Maintain records of kits prepared, issued, and returned.

Update ERP/MRP systems with tool movements as required.

Quality & Safety

Inspect tools for wear or defects before kitting.

Follow safety protocols for handling sharp or heavy tools.

Communication

Coordinate with planners, machinists, and production for urgent requirements.

Escalate shortages or discrepancies promptly.

Continuous Improvement

Suggest improvements to reduce kit preparation time and errors.

Participate in 5S and lean initiatives in the Pre-Kitting area.
